I had a charming stay at the castle lodge with everything I needed within the castle proper. The service was exceptional but not eating at the restaurant was a missed opportunity. The view from the rooms onto the lovely gardens was truly spectacular.
Staying at this hotel was a mixed experience. Although the rooms were located in the addition basement with no view, mine specifically had a bath which was a nice touch. I appreciated the convenience of having a bath, but I missed having a view from my room. The shower was the only option available, and the open windows had no screens, which was a bit of a downside for me. The location, within the castle proper, was exceptional with everything we needed nearby. Dining was included and the meals served were fresh, especially the meat dishes.
